Between 2005 and 2009, Andy Odysee was producing Drum & Bass under the artist name Cloaking Device and steadily building a portfolio of material ready to launch through his new Circuit Breaker label. Fate dealt Andy a different hand; a chance to relaunch the Odysee imprint instead and the rest of course is history.
“I have always been very proud of this set of tracks, the concepts and the arrangements were really good. But sadly the production values and especially the mix downs have not stood the test of time. The breaks were all made from scratch, and although I was excited about being able to boast that there were no sampled drums at the time, I have come to realise that Jungle and Drum & bass are very much about heritage; it’s good to have that reference to those classic breaks even if you use slightly rarer examples. Plus they were too fast- 180 BPM is just too quick and dropping them down to 172 should allow then to really funk out!”

Well over a decade later, Andy has decided to revisit this early catalogue and bring the tunes up to date, and we are proud to present the second in the Broken Circuitry series. At a glance these tracks might seem a little removed from the Odysee sound, but delve a little deeper and all the trademarks are still there; in particular those obscure OST/Film-Noire sounds and deep Techno samples.
